Cincinnati Zoo and Botanical Garden

Let’s start with the fun fact!

Now we can move to the blog itself 🙂

One of the interesting places that you can visit while being in Cincinnati is Cincinnati Zoo and Botanical Garden. It is a huge place filled with an amazing array of exhibits, animals and activities for everyone. Annual number of visitors is more than 1.2 million people. It is the 5th oldest zoo in the United States opened in 1875, so it is very famous here and it’s famed for its white Bengal tigers and gorillas. It also contains one of the largest insectariums in the world (you can get really close to alligators and snakes!). The zoo houses over 500 animals and 3,000 plant species.

If you are into the environmental science, there are wooden banners placed next to each animal and plant species with information about them (height, weight, lifespan, habitat, and diet) so you can explore and learn more quick facts about various species.

Also, there is a Hogwarts Express Train Ride during Halloween times which is free for UC students to take advantage of! By taking ride on this train, you get to see different types of fake scary creatures on the road which were made by Cincinnati staff.

Cincinnati Zoo also has several options for the visitors to get a meal. These are the following places: Taco Caja, The Coop, Wild Burger, Sweet Retreat, Base Camp Cafe, LaRosa’s, Tuskers, Outpost, Skyline, Graeter’s, Dippin Dots, and Savannah Soft Serve. So, you don’t really have to worry about finding places to eat, everything is inside of the zoo!

Usually Cincinnati Zoo offers discounts only for UC students to visit this place!
