Around Cincinnati, you will find different places to go such as the malls, parks or museums. The city of Cincinnati has a variety of public transportation; you can take the metro bus, the downtown streetcar, the shuttle offered by the university, rent a bike or a scooter, or take an Uber/Lyft.

Metro Bus

The metro bus is $1.75-$2.75 but UC students can ride the bus for just a $1 by applying for the EZ-Ride metro card here. I highly recommend downloading the Transit app which shows you which bus to take and how long will it take to get to your destination. This app is very helpful because you can see where is the bus and live in the right moment.

Cincinnati Bell Connector

The Cincinnati Bell Connector is a streetcar system and the route is around Over-the-Rhine and downtown. You pay $1 for two hours or you can pay $2 for a day pass. It is very convenient if you are planning to spend the entire day around downtown. They use the same app as the metro bus, Transit app to track the streetcar live and to also buy tickets.

UC Shuttle

If you just want to go around the university or live outside of campus within a mile radius, you can take the UC Shuttle. It offers you up to 12 routes. The shuttle routes go around off-campus housing or stores like Kroger, CVS, and Walgreens. On weekends, you can ride a special Greater Cincinnati nighttime shuttle that runs through the downtown area. You can download an app called DoubleMap which shows you where is the shuttle and what is their route.

Bike/Electric Scooter

Around campus, you will find electric scooters – Limes or Birds. The cost is $1 to unlock the scooter and then you pay between $0.15 to $0.29 cents per minute. They are useful to go to class if you are running late or go around campus. Another option will be on bikes. They are a good option and UC has a bearcat bike share which allows you to borrow a bike for up to 7 days at a time.

Taxis

If you want to go farther or get to your destination faster, you can easily get an Uber or Lyft. Just download their apps and you can get discounts for your first rides.

You can get to one place to another for a cheap and decent price. The University of Cincinnati offers you a variety of choices for you to pick according to your necessity.
