I know every single student who is considering UC as their university is curious about the tuition and fees, as well as how much it costs to live in this part of the United States. Because I live in Cincinnati, Ohio, in this blog I am going to talk about tuition rates here at the University of Cincinnati and outside of the campus.
If you live within 50 miles (80 kilometers) from the University of Cincinnati, then you don’t necessarily have to live on campus. However, if you came from a different state or a different country, then the only option is to live on campus because it is mandatory for you. I live on campus and really enjoy it, read about it in my blog post here.
There are three UC campuses in Cincinnati:
- UC Uptown Campus (AKA Main or West Campus)
- UC Blue Ash College (Regional Campus)
- UC Clermont College (Regional Campus)
So here is the breakdown of the overall cost of living (for undergraduate students) in all three campuses:
- UC Main Campus:
- Tuition and other fees: $27,244
- Living Expenses: $14,668
- Health Insurance: $2,360
- Total: $44,272

- UC Blue Ash College:
- Tuition and other fees: $15,058
- Living Expenses: $14,668
- Health Insurance: $2,360
- Total: $32,086

- UC Clermont College:
- Tuition and other fees: $13,116
- Living Expenses: $14,668
- Health Insurance: $2,360
- Total: $30,144

These numbers may seem big but the benefit that you are getting from attending school here is also very huge. If you pay the total costs, you get: a proximity to campus buildings (you save a lot of time), free access to the campus recreation center (gym, climbing wall, swimming, racquetball, basketball, group fitness, suspended track, lap pool, hot tub, locker rooms, etc), access to libraries, academic writing center, learning commons, access to table tennis and pool in a residence halls, an opportunity to go to football games for free of charge. You also can access all-you-can-eat campus dining halls as many times each day as you want! So pretty much everything you will need for living and entertaining on campus is in close proximity to where you’ll be staying.
As a student who gained some experience here at UC, I would encourage every single international student to live on campus because it can benefits you in a variety of ways and can help you hugely in the future, both in your professional and social life!
Here are the housing options, be sure to check them out and confirm your admission to UC before March 2nd because that’s when the housing application opens! You have to confirm your admission before you can apply for housing. That way, you’ll be more likely to get the dorm building you really desire.
Best of luck 🙂
